- Hey, Lil, I’m right over here… I just heard you teach in kinder-G. Common, tell me your secret. Why do children rush so eagerly to your classes? And how do you get them to eat all these vegetables? OMG. Did I just say vegetable? I’m a vegetable too!

- I have many secrets, but the most important one is that I love doing what I do. Kids like my unconventional teaching methods, where I mix learning with fun, not to mention that I make food look & feel delicious. And by the way, Peachy, the lessons I teach on peas are a real hit!

- OMG, I’m a star! I’m a star! I always dreamed about reaching high, to the fringes of the sky…

My dream is to make children all around the world enjoy vegetables, fruits and leafy greens. And I’ll make it happen, with the help of my special books written for children and grownups alike. Let’s not forget organic gardening and workshops for preschoolers. I find that stories and creative food are the best means to make children eat healthy. Working with children is essential for me: it inspires and motivates me so much!

How I see health education

I ground my courses for preschool children and my workshops for grownups on three key elements: food, education and fun. I do holistic education in a fun and unique way, and everyday life shows that this is the most effective approach. My students get accustomed to a healthy lifestyle by means of experiential learning, by engaging all the senses and through an interdisciplinary approach. The gastronomical experiment that is the main focus of our lesson is accompanied by music, painting, geography or gardening, the history of civilizations and mathematics. We learn about cabbages and captain James Cook at the same time. About the nutrient value of seeds and tropical climate.

Through fun and games Lil effectively teaches children the values of a healthy diet. Later on, this will help them make the right choices, respect nature and stay healthy, fresh and happy!

The power of consciousness

The first six years of a child’s life are crucial for his health. In his book, The Biology of Belief, my favorite scientist, Bruce Lipton, explains how the brain of the child works. He has found out that between the ages of two and six, a child begins to spend more time at a level of EEG activity characterized as theta (4-8Hz). “These low frequency brain waves put them into a more suggestible, programmable state”. “The fundamental behaviors, beliefs, and attitudes we observe in our parents become “hard-wired” as synaptic pathways in our subconscious mind, they control our biology for the rest of our lives… unless we can figure out a way to reprogram them”. Children are highly suggestible up until the age of six. As they grow, it becomes harder and harder to influence. Consequently, a proper nutritional education until the age of six will help them make the right choices later on. If you have a healthy lifestyle, your children will imitate it. It’s easy!
